QR PrivacyGuard (“the App”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information and confirms that no personal data is collected, stored, or shared.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
QR PrivacyGuard does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Contacts, photos, files, or location data
- Scan history or usage analytics
- Cookies or third-party tracking
All QR code analysis (decoding and link checking) is performed locally on your device. No scanned content is uploaded to external servers by default.
2. Affiliate Links
The App may display or offer links that contain affiliate parameters. This means:
- If you complete a purchase after following an affiliate link, the App developer may receive a small commission.
- There is no extra cost to you for purchases made through affiliate links.
- The App does not track purchases or transmit personal data to affiliate partners.
3. Offline-First & No Server Storage
By design, QR PrivacyGuard is offline-first: scanning, decoding, and local checks are done on the device. The App does not require nor use a remote server for routine operation. Any temporary data used for analysis is deleted immediately after processing.
4. Optional Network Features
Some optional features — for example, checking a URL against an online reputation service — require network access. When these features are used, only the scanned URL (not user identifiers or device identifiers) is sent to the selected service, and only with the user's explicit action or consent. If you enable such features, the App will make this clear and request permission.
5. Third-Party Services
The App does not include advertising or analytics SDKs in its default configuration. If the App integrates third-party services in future (for example, an optional reputation lookup), those services will be disclosed and used only with user consent.
6. Security
Because the App collects no personal data, risks related to data breaches or leaks are minimal. The App removes temporary analysis artifacts (cache, temporary webview state) immediately after use.
7. Children
The App collects no data from children. It is safe for use by users of all ages.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. When changes are made, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Continued use of the App after such updates indicates acceptance of the new policy.
